In this workshop, you will be exposed to learn about your strengths and weak points in an audition — the value of confidence and presence during the auditions. As essential learnings in today’s contemporary dance world, how to run, use space, develop the material, and do it with creativity and vital energy altogether.

The Berlin-based director, choreographer, teacher, improviser, Judith Sánchez Ruíz (CU-US-GE), was based in New York since 1999 and relocated to Berlin in 2011. She began her dance studies at the age of 11 at the National School of Arts. Ciudad de la Habana. Cuba. Ms. Sanchez has worked with Sasha Waltz & Guest, (2011-2014); Deborah Hay, (2012); Trisha Brown Dance Company, (2006-2009); DD Dorvillier, (2002, 2019); David Zambrano, (1997), Mal Pelo Company, (1997-1999); and DanzAbierta Company, (1991-1996). She established the JSR Company in NYC in 2010. She’s created numerous choreographic stage works and Site Specific and has initiated several improvisation projects involving live music with innovative composers and visual artist. Ms. Sanchez Ruiz has been a teacher and choreographer at major institutions of higher education in dance throughout Europe, US, Latin America and Asia.
